How to solve a Sudoku puzzle

The playing field consists of a grid of 9x9 cells

When starting a game, most cells are empty and the remaining show numbers from 1-9. These revealed numbers can not be changed during a game.

Your task is to fill all of the remaining cells in the 9x9 grid with numbers from 1-9 so that the following 3 conditions are met:

  • Every row contains exactly one ocurence of every number from 1 to 9

  • Every column contains exactly one occurrence of every number from 1 to 9

  • Every 3x3 cell region contains exactly one occurrence of every number from 1 to 9
